well, happy halloween! this will be brief as it’s quite late!
i hope everyone remembered to set their clocks back last night! actually, i hadn’t, and was actually feeling pretty lazy for sleeping in until nearly 11:00 thereby missing a whole hour of the first game. but, when i did get up, i discovered it was really only ten, and the game hadn’t quite started yet! i watched the rams, but really couldn’t get much into it, so i just pissed around for a while, read some magazines, and finally got my pumpkin done to put outside to welcome trick-or-treaters to our humble abode. i didn’t bother carving my pumpkin, i just painted a face on it instead: typical triangle eyes and nose, and big grin with four teeth. pretty dull compared to some really fancy jack-o-lanterns i saw around the neighbourhood, but still, he was a very cute pumpkin!
the trick-or-treating wasn’t too bad this year. it was my job to hand out candy to all the little ghouls and goblins since i had no parties to go to and no date this year, and my mom simply hates doing it! i really didn’t mind it at all. the kids were all very nice and polite, although some of them looked a bit old to be trick-or-treating! it will probably be their last year!
it’s sad really, when you realize you’re too old for trick-or-treating! it’s like when you finally discover santa claus isn’t real; you lose a bit of your childhood innocence, and take another small step into growing up. it pretty much sucks!
anyway, let’s see . . . well, football was pretty much a waste - i just couldn’t get into it: the niners were on a bye week, and the packers play on monday night, so there really wasn’t anything to get excited about. i did kind-a sort-a watch the raiders, but as i said, i just couldn’t get into football today! luckily i’d taped the f1 race from last night (which i very nearly missed, as i thought it was 9:00 sunday night not saturday! luckily, i was looking through the tv guide last night around nine, and saw it listed, ran into my room and taped it !), so i had that to watch. it was an excellent race; everyone did quite well and behaved themselves! mika won the race and the championship, and i couldn’t be happier for him! i must admit to being disappointed that eddie didn’t win, as that would’ve been very cool, but mika’s a great guy, he’s worked his ass off all season (as have all the drivers), and really deserved the win! hhf ended up in fourth in the race, which was fantastic! he had a really great season, too, finishing third in the driver’s championship! jordan ended up third, also, in the constructor’s championship, which is very cool! congrats on that, hhf and uncle eddie! Unfortunately, damon didn’t fare so well in his final race ever - as he’s retired, now - which was too bad. it sucked that his last season had to be so disappointing.
