yes, i know it’s a new month, and i know that new year’s is over and you’re sick of seeing these graphics! well, so am i! i have some new valentine-type stuff waiting in the wings, but i also decided to move my journal to crosswinds.net. it’s also a free page place, but they have unlimited space and require no advertising! sounds too good to be true, i know, but so far it is. anyway, i worked on stuff yesterday, but didn’t get it done. today i have a lunch meeting so i won’t be able to get any work done until i get home, and even then it won’t be much. ditto tomorrow. in my travels around the wide world of web graphics, i was surprised to find so few heart-themed sets that weren’t tables, frames or otherwise complicated to set up. the set i’m going to be using has frames, and i fought all lunch hour yesterday with it, which is why more didn’t get done. i got it figured out, though, and it works very well. it looks good on webtv, too; it’s just not framed.
so much to do, so little time. it’s my own fault for waiting until the last day of the month to search for graphics for the next month. one of these fine days i’ll come up with a set of self-portrait graphics that will be used for the splash and contents pages, so just the recent entries page and individual entries will get new graphics every month. less stuff to mess with. this month i swear i will be better organized, and have march’s graphics all templated and ready to go! yes, i know templated is not a word! i’m just playing here!
so, tonight is the first night the accounting students from cal poly will be providing their free tax service, and i’ve brought all my tax stuff so hopefully i’ll be able to get it done tonight. they use to have it in an empty space at the mall, but since the mall’s being torn down, they had to find another location. well, they found a space in the marigold shopping center which is right down the street from where i work, so it’ll just be a quick jaunt down there after work! it’ll be so nice to get that done and out of the way!
actually i was just down there - the marigold shopping center, that is - last night. that’s where the cory everson’s all-women’s gym is located. (they’ve got everything down there: vons, the gym, gnc, a sav-on, michales, tons of eateries, and a couple coffee shops; all they need it a really good bookstore, and i might never go downtown again! just kidding! but, seriously, that waldenbooks out by sears might want to think about moving while there’s still space available! they’re probably holding out for the new mall, or maybe they actually do good enough business out there, what do i know?) i’m considering joining there (cory’s). my membership at kennedy ran out on monday. anyway, i went down to the msc to check the place out, but chickened out at the last minute. (yeah, i know, cluck, cluck!) i went to gnc instead and picked up a fat measuring device (which was priced at $14.99, but rang up $2.99 - what a deal!), and a box of stevia sweetener. don’t ask me why. i never use sweetener on anything anyway! after gnc, i checked out the local full-service salon and picked up some nail protein. i also grabbed one of their brochures, and notice they do faqcial peels. i’ve been considering having one done. i’d love to just have a full laser resurfacing done, but i can’t afford that, so the peel might be the next best thing. they’re pretty pricy, too ($85. per session, if i remember correctly), but not as bad as the laser. something to think about anyway. and, last but not least, i finally got my hair cut. nothing dramatic; just a trim really. it sure looks and feels better, thought, and the colour really perked up, too!
’nuff for now! happy groundhog’s day! sorry about the six more weeks of winter for all you guys suffering with the snow and crap. it’s going to be 77 degrees here, so six more weeks of this won’t be so bad! ha! sorry, but i just had to gloat a little! actually, we could use six weeks of on-and-off rain, if it’s not too much to ask!
