todayetcetera: had a pretty good weekend; was pretty well behaved food-wise! i totally forgot to weigh myself yesterday, so i’m just assuming i’m still at 180. i’m still on my period, but don’t feel quite so bloated today, so i could’ve easily stepped on the scale and got a fairly accurate result, had i thought of it. trouble is, my scale is presently buried under a pile of magazines that have accumulated in my bath, so it’s really a case of out of sight, out of mind! next week for sure. so today was my first day at the “y”, and it went pretty well. i just walked up from work, and did the treadmill today, which basically means i just did a lot of walking, but, hey, it’s better than nothing! i’d really like to concentrate on more weight work, since i’ll be getting a pretty good aerobic workout with the walk up there and back, and i’ve been reading a lot about how having more muscle mass can help you lose weight. i just don’t want to bulk up too much! i mean, just because i read oxygen magazine, doesn’t mean i want to look like those girls! anyway, i’m going to just do aerobic this week and see how it feels, and if it’s going well, i’ll try adding some arm work next week. i’ll just keep adding on when i feel i’m ready for new stuff every week or so. as much as i’d like to just jump right into this and do a total weight routine as well as heavy aerobics, i know i’ll kill myself if i do that! i just need to be patient and work into this slowly. i just need to stop trying all the fad diets, buying all the wacky exercise equipment i see on television, and just do what my body tells me to: my tummy tells me it wants more “clean” food, my lungs tell me they want fresh air, and my muscles tell me they want movement. okay, guys, no need to shout! i hear you!

today:revelations and ranting
etcetera: yeah, i know i was bad having that donut this morning. i wish they’d either not bring anything for the monthly meetings, or bring in something a little better; even a bagel would’ve been better. thing is, i just hate it when my tummy starts growling in the middle of a meeting. it’s embarrassing! hopefully i’ll walk it off later: mom and i are going to walk down to vote tonight when i get home from work. i don’t really like voting late because then you’re vote basically doesn’t count since everything has already been decided back east by lunchtime, but since most of the stuff being decided on today are local issues, i doubt any major decisions will be made before six p.m. now in november, when we vote for president, i’ll be down there at 7 a.m., meeting or no meeting to make sure my vote counts! sorry, didn’t mean to get all political there! in the above journal link i mention digital cameras and my lack thereof, so if you’re interested to know why there still aren’t any pictures up here, go there.
