So, it's Friday, and thank God! Not only is this a good thing because it's the end of the week, which means sleeping in, and this week also means Superbowl Sunday, but it's a good thing because tonight was DeeDee's housewarming party.

A few of us ladies from work decided it would be fun to have a surprise housewarming party for DeeDee, who just moved into a new place. We spent a week planning the party, and shopping for the perfect gift. We finally decided upon a lovely floral print from Michael's, and since we couldn't agree on a frame, we got her a gift certificate for that. It was a pot luck party, and everyone brought some sort of food (lasagna, salad, snacks, and dessert) or beverage (mostly wine, but there was water and soda, too), along with picnic items such as paper plates, plastic utensils, and disposable cups. All in all, the party was a big success. DeeDee was totally surprised (she was only expecting a couple of us over to see her new place), and seemed very happy.

The only problem for me came when I realized that I'd forgotten to bring any allergy medication, and had further forgotten Dee has a cat. An adorable cat, but still a cat, and by the time the party broke up, I was watery-eyed, stuffy-nosed, and wheezing like an old man with emphysema. Fortunately, everything is clearing up now, but it was uncomfortable for awhile there, nonetheless.

Favourite Thing Right Now:This pretty little silk flower arrangement my friend Jewel gave me before she moved (see picture above). I have it on top of my computer at work, and it just reminds me of spring every time I look at it. It makes me smile.

Gratitude:Warmer weather. It's going to be in the 60's this week, which may still sound cold, but considering the 40's and 50's we've been living with lately, 63 seems downright balmy!
