Dental Diva Update

Well, I had my three-month dental cleaning appointment today, and everything looks great. I can't even begin to tell you what a relief that was to hear! I'd been almost 90% diligent about my tooth cleaning routine, though I must confess to sometimes not doing it, but I was still worried that I'd managed to screw it up. Luckily, my teeth and, most importantly, my gums were in good condition. It only took the hygienist ten minutes of scraping to clean everything, and I didn't even bleed out a whole gauze pad! (I used to go through at least three.) So, anyway, I'm feeling pretty good about things.

Now, I just need to get into the gym. Oh, did I mention I had some blood work done (Speaking of blood, that is . . .)? No? Well, I did, and that came back okay, too. Long's Drugs was having their cholesterol screening last weekend, and I finally went and had it done. The final numbers: My cholesterol was 183, and my glucose (diabetes test) was well within the normal limits. (Sorry, I don't have the paper in front of me right now.) Not too bad for a person who's hideously overweight and has bad eating habits. I must get it from my dad's side of the family.

So, anyway, I'm in semi-perfect health. No excuse not to go to the gym, right? Not that any of those were excuses to not go, despite the fact that I used them as such. That was wrong, I realize. But, now, seriously, everything is fine and dandy, and I can get on with the business of living.

Cheers!

ESCAPE

Reading: Mendoza in Hollywood by Kage Baker

Classic Book of the Month: Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain

Listening to: Lit, P!nk, Lifehouse, Nickleback, The Calling.

Writing: Nothing lately.

Pondering: Crossing the Abyss*

Favourite Thing Right Now: Nike Shox - I've been coveting a pair of these since I saw a print ad for them like, a year ago. Finally, they're here locally, and I have to have a pair. I may not be a runner, but the Shox rock, and who knows, they might make walking more comfortable. The one bummer: I have to go with a half size bigger all of a sudden. My feet are getting bigger with age. This sucketh greatly.

Gratitude: Sunshine and blue skies.
