![]() December 3, 2003 Well, I guess it's officially Christmastime now. Everyone in our neighbourhood has their lights and decorations up (except for us, but we'll get our decorations up this weekend), co-workers are wearing festive Christmas pins or sweaters to the office, and today I attended my first Christmas party. Happy Holidays! Today's party was the annual CCPA Christmas Party held at the swanky 1865 restaurant. It was, as such parties have been in the past, really fun and entertaining. We had raffle drawings (in which I won the poinsettia centerpiece), an ornament exchange (wherein I traded my pretty red velvet bird for a pretty red glass ball) and played a few games (that I didn't win). The first was a Christmas word scramble, which, if I'd been thinking Christmas thoughts I would've done better at. It's been hard for me to wrap my brain around the idea that it's December, however, and despite the growing number of blinking Christmas lights I see as I drive home, it's hard to believe it's nearly Christmastime again. Anyway, the second game was a Chinese horoscope, where you have a list of eleven items, and you write down stuff like the first number that comes into your head, the names of three people you like, and the names of some songs. Then they go through and tell you what it all means. Some of it was scary for me, some of it hit the nail on the head, and the rest were just fun. After the luncheon (wherein the food was delicious, by the way. I had the prime rib sandwich. Not exactly in keeping with my diet plan, but I worked out at Curves last night, so I more than made up for it!), I finished the rest of my work day, then, as I mentioned in the parenthetical above, I hit Curves, worked my butt off, then went home. Not too terribly exciting, I know, but this is my life. Welcome to it! Cheers!
