So, I went to Farmer's Market last night, but I didn't accomplish everything I'd set out to do. I'd planned on taking pictures of produce and new Bubble Gum Alley pix, but by the time I finished dinner, and started wandering around Farmer's Market proper, it was crowded and dark. I got a few shots by the creek, which will hopefully turn out, but that's about it. I also didn't make it to the Creamery, but that's really no great loss; it'll still be there next time.
One thing I ended up doing was stopping by Therapy, a fun, funky little shop on Higuera, and buying up a chandelier made from plastic black and white circles hooked together with "O" rings. It's very cool! I'm hoping it will work on the light fixture in my bedroom, but if not, I can just hang it in a corner as a piece of art. I also bought a pair of shoes (I know, I know!) from Crazy Jay's, and wandered around the store looking at all the cute clothes and wishing I was a size 4. Or 0. I saw a super cute formal I'd love to get for JournalCon (they're contemplating having a formal to semi-formal ball-type thing this year, which I think would be tons of fun!!!). It was a strapless dress with a below the knee-length full skirt; black with tiny white polka dots, and a thin pink belt around the waist. Sadly, the largest size they had was a 10, and it was $119.00. As much as I'd love to be a size 10 by August 20, I know it's not likely to happen, and I'd hate to buy a dress from a store that doesn't do refunds, nor does it take merchandise back after 30 days. Or something like that. Don't quote me on that return policy; I don't have the receipt in front of me. Anyway, I didn't buy it. Besides, I have plenty of formal skirts and funky tops I could wear, if in fact, they decide to have a "JournalCon Ball."
So, it really was an unproductive evening after all. It'll be my last Farmer's Market for a while, since I'm starting the memoir writing class next Thursday evening. I'm looking forward to that, but am still going to miss the Market. Oh, well. It's only 10 weeks. I'll live.
for what it's worth,
