The Day After

Gah! The best laid plans can be quickly derailed by making the conscious decision to have that one last glass of Chardonnay. Oh! My head!

Still, I refused to have my Super Fun Day in Morro Bay ruined by a stupid hangover, so I got up, showered, had some coffee and took some Excedrin, then headed to the Embarcadero, determined to make the best of it. The sun was shining, and it was warm, so at least the weather was cheerful, and quickly helped improve my mood.

And, it pretty much was a very good day. It was touch and go first thing; perhaps deciding to have lunch at a restaurant overlooking the bay where the boats are bobbing up and down was not the best idea, but after spending an hour picking over my chicken ceasar salad and downing a giant glass of iced tea, I started feeling a litte more alive, and decided to do some shopping.

I pretty much have my Christmas shopping done, but I did need a gift for my mom. She's easy to buy for: all she wants is a new pair of grass clippers and a new pair of gardening gloves. Well, she'll have to wait on the clippers (the Black and Decker store in the Outlet Center is going out of business soon, and are promising a giant closeout sale, so we're waiting for that.), but I did get her some nice gardening gloves. Then, I bought a few presents for myself: a cool bracelet and some earrings. Oh, and some salt water taffy! You can't possibly go to the ocean and not buy salt water taffy! Ooh! It's so good!

So, in the end, it turned out to be a really good day. I didn't end up seeing a movie; I had planned on seeing The Incredibles, but spent too much time wandering around Morro Bay, and ended up missing the two afternoon show times. But, it was a good day. A good weekend.

Cheers!
