K is for Kitty, P is for Pugs

Another entry for you today: K is for Kitty and P is for Pugs! Since today was Father's Day, my mom, grandparents and I went up to my aunt and uncle's place for a Father's Day BBQ. There, I had the opportunity to play with their two pugs, Trixie and Bow Wow, and spend a little quality time with their kitty, Penny.

It's no secret I love animals, specifically dogs and cats, and that I want either a dog or cat really, really badly. However, it is also no secret that I have terrible allergies to said animals, and therefore can't own either one. Today, however, I remembered to take a Claratin before going up to my aunt and uncle's place, so I was better able to stand the negative reaction my body has to the protein in dog and cat saliva (which is what causes the allergies doncha know!).

It wasn't bad - I had no sniffling or sneezing, no itchy, watery eyes or nose, and didn't break out into angry, itchy, pulsing red hives all over my face and body. I did, however, have a mild itchy reaction to both puggy bites and scratches, but they faded quickly, and a little hydrocortisone gel eased the itching right away. I also had a mild asthma attack, but it wasn't serious enough to stop playing!

Yay! Yay! Happy day! I got to play with pugs, and pet a kitty! Nothing else in the world matters!
