2004 New Year's Resolutions
1. Read the Bible. Little by little this is getting done. I hope to have read the whole thing by the end of the year.
2. Write more in-depth journal entries. I haven't really been doing this, so it's something to start working on. I got a lot of great writing tips and techniques in the memoir writing class I just took, so hopefully that will help.
3. Write two short stories (non-fanfic). Well, I wrote one and a half, that's not bad, right? It helped that I took that short story writing class earlier this year! Now, what I need to do is rewrite the finished one, and finish the other one!
4. Complete NaNoWriMo with a saleable (or at least very close to saleable) novel. I've got time to work on this; NaNoWrimo isn't until November.
5. Complete a minimum of five adventures off my list. First thing to do here is review (and update) my list! Then I can figure out what's doable and what isn't.
2004 Fitness Goals
1. Record all foods eaten in a Fitday journal at least five days a week. I honestly haven't done this. At all. I really don't have the time to do it (poor excuse, I know, but whatever).
2. Work out at Curves three days a week. I'm close on this one: I usually go about two days a week. My excuse for skipping the third day is that it's hard to go three days in a row, and I've had to do that with my writing classes. However, now that they're finished, I can spread my workouts out, and will hopefully fulfill this goal in the next couple months.
3. Ride recumbent bike three days a week (one day can be substituted by walking 3 or more miles). Not doing at all. I am doing the walking 3 or more miles part, but I haven't touched the recumbent bike in months! I need to work on that!
4. Take a multi-vitamin every day. Umm. Oops. I'd totally forgotten about this, and I haven't been doing it. I don't think I even have any multi-vitamins in the house, and if I do, they're very, very old. I'll pick up a new bottle this evening, and start first thing tomorrow morning!
5. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. I'm very close on this one: I usually drink about 6 glasses a day. I'll work on adding at least two more glasses a day over the next couple months.
Actually, I'm not doing all that bad. Not as bad as I thought I might be. It's actually quite encouraging to see that I haven't completely slacked off of every resolution I made back in January. Not like in past years where I accomplished a great big NOthing! Of course, I made my resolutions easy this year, simply so I could actually keep some of them! It's not cheating, really! I'm just being more realistic this year.
