Happy Saturday!
For me, Saturday was spent working in the yard. In the morning, mom and I mowed, trimmed and cleaned up the front yard. We waited out the afternoon heat indoors, then around 4 p.m. headed out to work on the back yard. Mowing and trimming the back lawn is much easier and takes less time than the front because it’s nice and flat, so I also trimmed up a couple overgrown bushes. The backyard is looking really nice now. I only have three large unruley shrubs left to deal with, but there’s plenty of time for that.

I also took a moment to check out the vegetable garden:

Everything looks pretty good, except the cucumbers. They’ve got light-coloured blotches on the leaves and they feel a bit crispy:

Mom has been spraying all the veggie plants with incecticidal soap, but the cucumbers are still sick. Perhaps it’s a disease of some kind? We don’t know. Hopefully it will clear up, though, as it would be very depressing to lose our cucumbers again this year!
The bell peppers are producing really well already - there are lots of blossoms, and one teeny tiny pepper on one of the plants:

Unfortunately, this plant also had some blackness on the stem, and I don’t know what it is. Or if it’s even a problem. *shrug* I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens!
And now, here’s some pretty flowers …

… a rosemary blossom …

… and almost-blooming lavender:

Cheers!
