beautiful gift wrapping

Friday at work we had our “Secret Santa” Christmas Party (or “Holiday” party if you’re not into Christmas). It seemed rushed to me. Maybe it was just me, I don’t know. It was nice, but it was only about 15 to 20 minutes long. I understand there are a lot of people who leave at 4:30 and we can’t start any celebrations until we close up at 4:00 and all the customers are gone, but for some reason it just seemed … I don’t know … different from last year. I could be entirely wrong. Like I said, I could just be me.

Anyway, I was very excited to see the lady who’s name I drew open her gift, because I had picked the perfect gift for her! This coworker (I may have mentioned before, I don’t remember) grows some of the most beautiful roses I’ve ever seen. Back in September (or October, again, I don’t remember) she brought a ginormous gorgeous bloom and set it in the space between me and my Pod-mate. I couldn’t resist taking some pictures. When I was shopping for her a few weeks ago at Michael’s, I was originally going to get her some beaufiul yarn becuase she’s a knitter as well, but then I saw a gorgeous picture frame and it hit me: enlarge the picture of her rose and give it to her! I did so, and I think it turned out really nice:

She recognized the type of rose straightaway (I forget what it is; I’ll have to ask her on Monday), but was surprised when I told her it was her rose! I think she really liked it, and I was so happy!

My previous Lead Worker S. had drawn my name, and gave me a gift card to Sephora! She told me she origianlly was going to do a gift card from Barnes and Nobel – which would’ve been just as perfect! – but after talking to my current Lead Worker (also an S. initial), learned how I’m looking forward to buying new make up once I’m finished with the prednisolone treatment on my eyes, and decided to go with Sephora. Totally awesome!
