… is a bra that fits! I am so annoyed with the straps of my bras – all of them! – sliding off my shoulders and down my arm. Grr! I’m constantly having to duck into an dark, uninhabited corner to yank them back up. I have bought dozens of bras, some of them pretty expensive, but not a one has managed to have straps that stay up where they belong. I’ve measured myself, so I know what size to buy, and yet, and yet, I cannot find a decent bra. Gah!
At this rate I’ll be forced to buy racer-back bras, which I don’t want to do because, while they’re good at preventing strap slippage, they also clip in the front, so that sometimes when you have to squeeze by someone or into a smallish area, the front pops open, thus exposing you to ridicule and shame.
*sigh*
I mentioned before that my trainer wants me to start keeping a food journal at the beginning of the year. I figured I’d better start practicing, and maybe even see for myself where I can make some nutritional changes. Therefore, here’s what I’ve eaten (so far) today:
1 packet of Carnation Instant breakfast (French Vanilla, only because Vons doesn’t carry the Dark Chocolate flavour yet), mixed with 1 cup of fat-free lactose-free milk (and no, it’s not as gross as it sounds).
1 small cup of coffee (just plain ole Folgers) at home.
1 grande Americano (tres yum!) from Uptown Espresso and Bakery. (Pixie Chick and I had our Day of Glory early because she’s off tomorrow for her birthday. The rest of the Civil Support Group snuck down to the coffee shop before us to surprise her. It was great!)
1 cup (as opposed to a full bowl) of cheesy cauliflower soup from the Courthouse Cafe. (Probably not the best choice, no only because it’s fattning, but also because it came back to haunt me later.)
1 California chicken sandwich with cheese and avacado also from the Courthouse Cafe, no fries.
And when I get home tonight I will have a South Beach diet frozen dinner, but I’m not sure which one yet, and half a zucchini bread I bought at Uptown and am bringing home to share with my mom.
That actually doesn’t sound too bad until you get to the stuff I got at the cafeteria. It’s good food, but not really diet-friendly. But, you’ll notice, I did avoid getting the fries with the sandwich! And, also I only get stuff at the Cafe once a week – only when they’ve got something really, really good on the Specials menu. Normally I bring a Lean Cuisine frozen dinner (I currenly love the bowls) for lunch and have an afternoon snack of fruit (either an apple or clementine) and a granola bar.
I’m kinda looking forward to discussing nutrition with my trainer. I’m just hoping he doesn’t make it too difficult for me!
