Time to take a break from reading the final Harry Potter book and check out how the garden is doing. Earlier this week, mom harvested a cucumber, bell pepper and zucchini:

And from the looks of things, we’ll be getting a lot more very soon!

The honeydew plants are so big, I can’t fit them all in the frame anymore!

The one melon is getting bigger every day, and I can see another little baby one starting:

It’s been hit or miss with our zucchini. The plants seem to be fading, and more squash is dying on the vine than reaching maturity.

Luckily our cucumber plants are doing great! We’re getting tons of cucumbers!

The peppers are doing pretty well, too. The plants are a beautiful deep green colour, and we have several little peppers growing!

I’m going out of my mind waiting for these tomatoes to ripen! I can just about taste that BLAT (bacon, lettuce, tomato and avacado) sandwich with our fresh-from-the-garden toms!

Elsewhere in the backyard, the echinacia flowers have bloomed:

And, while some of the lavender is about done blooming, there’s some more coming on:

And, yes, I have been having WAY too much fun playing with my photographs at both dumpr.net and picnik.com!

Also, I got a quick picture of this cute little baby lizard:

And I do not recommend getting too close to a wasp’s nest (which is what I’m beginning to think this is):

One of those little bastards totally shot out and nearly got me! Yikes!

Okay, that’s enough of the great outdoors. I’m going back inside to read more HP7!
