The Love of My Life – A Product Junkie Confession

No, it’s not a man, it’s … it’s a store.

Sephora. Yes, Sephora. Our very own Sephora store opened last week in San Luis Obispo just a block down from where I work. Today was the first time I had a chance to check it out; I wolfed down my lunch and headed over to Product Paradise. The SLO Sephora is teeny tiny, but still has lots of cool stuff.

(Except Hard Candy. I did notice a distinct lack of Hard Candy – Urban Decay, yes, Too Faced, oh yeah, Smashbox, you betcha, but Hard Candy, sadly no. Luckily I stocked up on a few bottles of Liquid a while back.

I really only meant to look around, you know, check the place out. But then I remembered that my favourite mascara is mysteriously disappearing from drug stores, and I really should find a new one in case it’s been discontinued. After much searching and debating (and clock watching; I was just on my lunch break after all!) I decided to try two mascaras: Bare Escentuals mascara in Espresso and Stila Major Lash in brown. I also needed a brow sealer, and picked up the clear one by Bourjois. While I was at it, I also picked up some Silky C from DDF. I stared at the wall of Jonathan products tempted to buy myself a jar of Dirt, but resisted, since I’ve decided to get all my future hair care products from Aveda. And also because my friend Jewel tried it and hated it.

I won’t say how frighteningly much money I spent in just 35 minutes, but I was pleasantly thrilled to recieve a free Sephora make up bag which contained some trial-sized goodies: a smal vial of Valentino perfume, a small packet of Too Faced Lip Injection Mask, Sephora moisturizer, and Smashbox Photo Finish foundation primer, and a tube of Urban Decay XXX Shine in Carney. Yay!

And, if this post doesn’t scream Product Junkie, I don’t know what will!

Cheers!
