Well, the bangs, anyway. I know the longish “fringe” is en vogue right now, but I just can’t stand when my bangs touch my eyelids, and that’s exactly where they were today: brushing my eyelids, getting caught in my lashes, limp and annoying, and I decided they just had to go. Originally I was going to run down to get a trim at Fantastic Sam’s (because I’m cheap that way), but decided against driving all the way across town and maybe I’ll do it over the weekend, or maybe not at all.

Or maybe I’ll get a wild hair up my ass and cut them myself. So they’re a little too short now and uneven. Big whoop. They’ll grow out.

This evening I ran to the store to pick up wine and sandwiches for dinner, then decided a pizza sounded better. I put the sandwiches (which had been made who know’s when) back, and grabbed a Boboli pizza bread crust, a half pound of low fat ground turkey, a jar of Green Giant mushrooms and a small bag of low fat mozzerella cheese, and headed home to cook. I must’ve gotten a really good nap on the bus tonight (which, incidently, did not break down like the one last night did. i did mention that didn’t i? i can’t remember now.), because I never cook on Friday nights. It’s always sandwiches from the Von’s or Albertson’s deli or Subway or Quizno’s, or some frozen appetizers like brushetta, and pasteries filled with spinach and artichoke hearts and cheese. But, I was hungry for pizza, and in the mood to cook, so homemade pizza it was. It was fantastic, if I do say so myself, and totally satisfied my pizza craving.

Today was a much better day than yesterday was. My eyes are no better, but no worse, and that’s the good news as far as I’m concerned. Tomorrow I go in to the lab for more blood tests, which I’m sure will all come out fine. I feel fine. I just can’t see all that well. But, like I was telling a couple friends at work, if this is it – if this is as good as my eyes are ever going to be again – then thank you, God! Because I can see good enough to live and still enjoy my life, and the few things that have been inconvenienced by my slight vision imparment (like driving, especially at night, and in the rain? forget it!) can be fixed by either glasses or surgery. So really, my life isn’t so bad!

Sometimes I forget that, and I’m so grateful that I am able to remember it. Happy Friday, everyone, and have a terrific weekend!
